Easter morning

On Easter Sunday, Kyle and Kassy, Ivan and Jessica and us went for a sunrise walk...it was a time we took aside to refect on the resurrection of Jesus and then we went back to Kyle & Kassy's house for breakfast. It's amazing how much you can get out of a day when you get up so early!!

Our Baby!

Here's our little active one. We got to get the ultrasound today and the ultrasound tech was laughing at how active he/she was. Dan said it looked like he was sucking his thumb. This was really a tease because I only got to see the screen for about 30 seconds and I could have watched it for hours. I'm glad for Dan though because he got to watch it the whole time the tech was doing his thing. He doesn't get to feel it move like I do so at least he got to see it move for longer.

I can feel It!

I can finally for real feel the baby move now. The movements aren't just flutters like before but they are stronger and feel more like an actual living thing in there. They are still too spurratic and quick to be able to get Dan to try and feel them though. Every time I feel it move I smile and wait for it again but it doesn't usually move alot at once.

Now it's becoming more real that there's actually a baby in there. Dan and I just can't fathom that there is a human growing inside of me - a human that is part Dan, part Laura! Very cool.

We're Moving!

Yes, you read it right, we're moving. Dan is going to be the Program Director at a place called Galilean Bible Camp (a CSSM camp) in Blind River, Ontario. The goal is for his job to turn into the Assistant Director of the camp, which is a year-round position. We are very excited about this because the job seems so "Dan". He's always loved working with youth, organizing events, being outdoors, developing his and others' outdoor pursuits skills, and the list goes on. Not to mention raising a kid at a Bible camp. Lucky kid!

While we are excited about our new adventure, it is also going to be hard for us to leave NBI! The community here within NBI has been amazing for us. There's nothing like living on a Bible School campus...surrounded by fellow staff who love God and know how to laugh, students who are eager to grow and who become part of our lives, neighbors in the 4plex that are always so kind to lend a cup of sugar or a few eggs :)....

Our venture begins in June when we pack up a bigger U-HAUL (I know, U-HAUL's are scarey) than we came with and make the 22 hour drive to Blind River. By then I'll be big and round :) By the way, today I for sure felt the baby move. Other days I thought I did, but today I was sure. It was the coolest thing. I waited for it to happen again but I didn't yet. From what I hear though I should enjoy not getting poked in the ribs while it lasts. :) If you want to check out the place we're going, go to www.cssm.ca/galilean

Home to visit

I was able to fly home for a few days to see my family during the school's Reading Break. Dan wasn't able to come so that was sad but it was great to see everyone.

Here's me with my Mom and Dad...notice all the cards above our heads - they have been so blessed with encouragment and support from their friends and family during all of the craziness with Dad being sick.

Exciting!

Just incase you can't make out the instructions....2 lines means I'm PREGNANT!!! Ahhhh!!!!
Yes - Dan and I are going to be parents sometime around August 13th! That means I'm 3 months along right now. We're pretty pumped about it. We already got to hear the little heart beating. It's amazing I tell you. What a miracle. I can't wait to start feeling it move around.

Hockey Tournament

Dan played in his first hockey tournament on the weekend. They were undefeated until the final when they lost 2-3. Bummer. But they played really well and had lots of fun (although it was tiring). It was fun watching too :) Dan's the one on the left end of the back row.

Dad

On Friday when we got home from Saskatoon we found out that my (Laura) parent's shop had burned down, and that following that my dad had a heart attack. He's okay now after having an angioplasty and lots and lots of prayer. We are so thankful that he is okay and how God had His hand in the whole thing. The firemen were still there when he had the heart attack so they were able to give him oxygen right away, which led to him having only minimal damage done to his heart. We're also thankful that it happened then because there were lots of other people around. If the fire hadn't happened, he probably wouldn't have had it then, but at a later time, possibly when he was alone and unable to get help. God is so great.

Please continue to pray for his full recovery. He is still in the London hospital recovering and getting lots of attention of the dr's and nurses. He's been able to get out of bed a little bit today which he was really glad for because he was getting pretty tired of laying down. He is doing better and better each day. Thanks for praying.

Our Christmas

Christmas morning Dan and I got up early and opened our Christmas presents.

Later that day Dan and I just hung out together...watched movies, had supper, went snowmobiling, and decided to be lazy. We had a pretty good time although we both really missed our families and wished we could have been with them.

Snowmobiling

One of the families from our church blessed us by letting us borrow their snowmobiles while they were away for Christmas. We had a blast! Nipawin has some pretty nice trails so we had fun exploring.
