nursing covers (*updated*)

This is my version of a very cool nursing cover that I found on the internet (way over-priced at $40 each!). I'm very excited about them because the top stays open so you can see your baby, but no one else can see what's going on under there :) I made one for a friend who is breast-feeding and she has found that it works really good for her. I can't wait to try it for myself!

I was thinking of trying to sell some, so if you are interested in buying one, I'd love to make you one! I would sell them for $25 including shipping.

These are the nursing covers I have for sale right now:

fabrics available:

solid brown sage green

I would sew this one so the flower is in the bottom corner of the cover.

  1. Hey Laura,
I'll buy a nursing cover from you. My friend is due in July and it would make a great gift. I'd like the brown/blue stripped one if you still have that fabric. How do you take payments?

  2. Hi Laura,

My sister Shannon had a link to you on her blog, and I'm glad I checked it out! I would love to buy a nursing cover...I'm due in August and this would come in very handy. Like Kristal just asked in her comment, how would you like to be payed? You can email me at erincoote@hotmail.com with the info!

  3. Hey! I'm one of Shannon's other sisters and I would so love one of these. I'm due in the next few weeks and I am thinking I like the flowery one the best. But, I'm wondering, does anyone think that would be weird if I ended up having a boy? I would think this is more of a mom's accessory than a baby's, right? Or is that weird?

Do you have a paypal account? It seems that would be easiest to pay by, but I wouldn't mind doing it another way.

Anyway, you can email me at anne.k.stephens@gmail.com and let me know the details. :)

I think it looks so nice, but I won't be nursing much longer. If we decide to have another baby, I'd be interested. Just a question though, is the wire flexible enough to fit in a diaper bag?

  5. the wire is definately flexible. The whole thing actually folds up small enough to fit into a legal size envelope to mail.

  7. It's interesting that you posted about this because someone else was just telling me about these, only they called them "hooter hiders"! Not sure if you want to advertise that way though....:) Great idea!

  8. Hi Laura! Just responding to your comment on my blog.

I actually made my own pattern for the Mei Tai, based off of the Kozy Carrier, which I had the chance to try out. The first Mei Tai that I made, I used the pattern found here:
    http://christmasevetwins.blogspot.com/2007/10/make-scandi.html

There is also this one that has interchangeable panels:

This one is a basic pattern, but looks confusing to me:

  12. I am not a blogspot member so hopefully it'll let me post this. I'm very interested in a "Nursing Cover" but can't find contact info here. Please contact me at kwooth@comcast.net. I'm interested in one that has what appears to have a stiff half circle that makes the top "tent out" for viewability.
